  • I work in tech and I was tired of Musk one day and said: “I don’t care where you’re politics lie, but I’m sick of hearing about him”.

Then my coworker said, “aren’t you sick of paying taxes?”

I’m said, “I’m a progressive, you’re talking to the wrong guy”

He then said, “there are people who don’t work at all that get more money from the government than what we earn, why should they get money?”

Urgh, then we had a bit of back and forth. I doubt any of these poor people are getting money that’s equivalent to our tech salaries but if anybody’s getting that amount of money from the government it’d be the rich. I also went into the fact that I don’t have kids and he did. So a lot of my money is funding his kids too, but yeah …

  • Seriously, I’ve had it once before when I stayed at a place in New York almost 20 years back at this point.

I was like, oh … why are these bumps and why are they in a row? so weird!

Although, worse was when I got a bed in London UK at Swiss Cottage to just stay one night. It was like a dorm room bed. I think I estimated that I got like 200 bed bug bites in total. I had to estimate but it was crazy. What’s funny is that when you’re entire body is covered in bites, the itchiness bothers you a bit less because if it’s just one area you keep scratching it. However when it’s your whole body, you’re like … everywhere equally hurts so I don’t need to bother scratching. At least that’s what it was like for me.

Sorry, just releasing out the trauma :P

Now whenever I get any bites … I just freak out and wonder if it’s bed bugs. I woke up last night and noticed an itchy bump and just freaked myself out.

  • I mean this, as per Google’s definition (because I suck at it):

A parasocial relationship is a one-sided, one-sided connection where an individual develops a sense of intimacy and friendship with a public figure, like a celebrity or fictional character, who is unaware of their existence

I don’t think Internet normal friends beats meeting friends in real life but frankly it’s the only way some of us even get to have friendships nowadays. I still play games with friends in Poland and the UK despite being in Canada. I also think that it’s a more important part of life now because kids “seemingly” play less in the streets and they seem to play Roblox, Minecraft, or Fortnite or whatever with friends online and as much as I hate giving kids too much screen time … they’re socializing with their friends and it’s important to keep that going too.

  • and then people wonder why there’s a loneliness epidemic and complain they have no friends

Life’s short and it’s nice spending it and sharing it with others.

A lot of my friends that prefer to be alone actually want to hang out but most people hate organizing and stuff. So I usually make the effort. It’s better to have stories and experiences that are shared. Better being like, remember when we saw that game together? Remember trying to get home and being stranded? Remember going on that trip? Life’s short.

I’m also surrounded by friends that say they wanna do stuff a regret not doing it. Although most have kids now, so they’re unable to have the time nowadays.

To reiterate what you said, there’s about as many comments complaining about loneliness and how people forming bubbles and parasocial relationships with internet people and even weird AI relationships now. People act like it’s the worse thing in the world to hang out. It only gets harder when you’re older too.

Let me be clear. I don’t waste time on people that never wanna hang out. If you wanna be home and are rude when I invite you out, I will very simply leave you alone. That’s fine by me.

  • Voters are just lazy and stupid.

Voters saw January 6th and were like “I’m gonna stay home because voting doesn’t matter or I’m too busy and lazy to defend rights and democracy”.

Voters also see Trump and are so stupid to think that he was gonna make their economic life better. SleePy JoE diD tHaT! jOeVeR

Single Issue voters are just absolutely f**king stupid.

Media also sanewashed RFK and Trump again. The cult will always vote for their candidate. The normal people need a “reason” to take action. People love blaming Kamala for not beating the “oh-so-easy” Trump but they wouldn’t move their worthless asses to vote anyways.

  • lol, he’s actually a very good friend of mine. I went back to the UK and needed a place to stay and we linked up.

He got me into Expedition 33, Aliens, Fallout and quite a few other things.

We chatted about our old boss who I hated but he loved. Mainly because that old boss screwed me over but felt guilty about and treated people like him better to make up for it. Anyways, that boss has a few kids and one of those kids around 11 or so was wondering if he was the right gender. That incensed that boss and him and my friend would get into discussions about this apparently.

So he said one day about: “there are only two genders in the world”. I was like, “wait, what? what are you talking about”. Then it went into … why do people get pissed off when I say there’s just two genders. Then I had to say, I think you mean sex … but you know there are intersex people right? Then he’s like, “yes”. Then I’m like, “so … what are we talking about …?” … then we got into it a bit and I basically said, “this bathroom shit has caused no problems so far, who honestly cares … and if anything I’ve read stories about cis-women being attacked because idiots think they’re transgender which is all sorts of fucked up”

I have a lot of people that I consider friends and you sorta don’t find out what weird stuff they believe until over time. Like my cousin who I love is a Musk fan and that fucking drives me nuts. Also, if I consider them friends I’m not gonna just cut people out of my life (depending). If they just believe something dumb, I’d rather slow burn their beliefs away.

  • I think it’ll drop more? I don’t see any uptick specifically with respect to the condo market just yet? My friend who’s a real estate agent says it’s going to go further but he’s like very Chinese and his analysis is based on Feng Shui so I don’t know how I feel about that.

A fair price is harder to pin down because there are different types of condos in different locations with different amenities as well. Also, as much as I hate housing costs in Toronto and it is high. This is a global phenomenon too. So like, personally, I’d just want housing to be in the reach of a regular Canadian with a decent salary but there’s so many macroeconomic factors at play that a “fair price” is something I’m genuinely not qualified to answer.
