If clothing dye got on my skin like that, I’d be having a massive reaction on my hands and it’s gonna be itchy and inflamed.

3·1 day agoSaw it in IMAX last night. It was great! Better than Infinity Castle, because it actually felt like a movie instead of a couple of episodes mashed together. Much better paced.
And no lengthy backstories! When the Angel Devil had a quick flashback, I was about to groan about having to interrupt an action scene with a backstory, but I’m glad they didn’t. In fact, having Makima and Kishibe just say a couple of lines about Angel’s and Reze’s histories was enough to give you their backgrounds, instead of doing a 30-minute flashback.
The music was amazing. The action scenes were not hard to follow even with so much happening.
My only minor gripe(?) is the change of art style. I get that the director wanted it to be faithful to the manga, and it should be, but I’ve grown to like the grounded and realistic animation of S1. Not a dealbreaker though. Also, why bother censoring when it’s an R-18 rated movie already? It just makes it look weird. Either show it or don’t at all.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why would a company force you to use a rental car instead of your own for a drive to the office/Christmas party?English
6·2 days agoThis is the correct answer. I once found training that was a 3 hour drive away. The company was still penny pinching so I offered to drive myself so only the hotel needs to be covered. They denied my request because of the liability problem. They HAD to be the one to shoulder travel.
I do for larger/expensive purchases. For example, I registered all our home appliances. I use a separate email for all warranty registrations.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•What bothersome task could be fun with better equipment?English
2·2 days agoMowing. A mower that you drive or ride on is definitely more fun (and less tiring) than a push-mower. My yard is not big enough to justify buying one. On the other hand, I bought a robot mower which is fun in a way because you get to watch it mowing while you drink coffee on your porch.

My first thought was worse. You put the prey into one hole and the coil digests it for you so you can just drink the puree on the other end.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Youtube can detect VPNs now... the fuck?English
1·3 days agoI use Mullvad servers in South America and Southeast Asia for youtube and it works. No issues with Netflix with the servers in Europe and Asia that I use.
One of my reddit accounts was locked/suspended when I logged in though, and I can’t unlock it because it doesn’t have an email attached to it for account recovery. But just browsing isn’t an issue with old.reddit.
I don’t have a reason to distrust my ISP any more than any VPN provider.
Some VPN providers are pretty transparent with how they do things though, and publish annual audit results. Much better than an ISP that is opaque and will definitely snitch on you.

Yeah, and the scale of the picture itself is hard to determine. You don’t know how big the thing you’re looking at is, so you don’t know if you’re supposed to see just a paw, the entire creature, etc.
