I decided to improve my outdoor crafting area and possibly enclose it. I tore down my tier 5 farmer’s workbench to put cobblestone under it, and when I replaced it, it is now tier 1.

    When a higher tier workbench drops, it also drops all the materials used to upgrade it, so you should be able to place it down and upgrade back to tier 5.

    Ouch. Sorry this happened, my friend. I believe there’s a mod out there that preserves workbench tiers, if memory serves. I know it doesn’t help you now, but…it’s something?

      Luckily it was only the farmer’s bench. I had everything I needed to get back minus the aubergines. If it was a furnace or the armor bench I would have been upset.
