Social-consensus ( of a particular-tribe ) based “validity” is insufferable.

It is insufferable when it is class-based.

It is insufferable when it is race-based.

It is insufferable when it is gender-based.

It is insufferable when it is money-based.

It is insufferable when it is “religion” based.

I’ve learned that we’re incapable of seeing what our own prejudices contempt, because our own unconscious-mind blocks our ability to perceive it.

It is good that some of it is insufferable, it is better when all of it is.

I only cracked-open my class-prejudice at the end of a 25d hard-line-fast ( vit-C, vit-E, water, & salt ), out homeless in the bush.

Until then I’d been kept blind to how MY prejudice had been damaging people I valued.

Unconscious-mind’s programming is FAR more destructive than we understand.

& even once cracked, it takes a decade or more to dismantle enough of it, to own one’s own meaning, more?

yep.

Perhaps when young I’d have been among the smug identifying with what you are finding insufferable.

I’ve learned that what we are mostly is defined by what we were born into.

& therefore … all the people identifying as “not like that” are actually “not like that” due to mere accident of birth.

Aside from Lanier’s whole book on the difference between Tropical culture vs Nordic culture ( “Foreign to Familiar” ) & Hofstede’s “Exploring Culture” & “Cultural Dimensions Theory”…

the blunt fact that the MAJORITY of East German people were snitching, in order to ingratiate themselves with the authorities … THAT is actual-measurement of human-nature.

WE are not “inherently better” than them.

It takes decades to force oneself to become whom one intends to be.

That truth by the root-guru of the Christians: “let the one without sin throw the 1st stone” bites deeper & deeper, the more one digs into the true nature of our own unconscious-mind.

Ideological oversimplification’s nauseating.

But the truth-seeing view that people are mixtures, that there was both good & evil in the monsters of our history, & that there usually is both good & evil in the “heroes” of our history, too…

takes more work to uphold.

& the social-ideology believers won’t have any of that.

Nor will any of the other ideology believers, so that’s normal.

But we CAN be objective & correct-reasoning, if we want it enough.

That requires carefulness, though, in both thinking & in speech/expression.
