It has been bred into a wide range of cultivars, including cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, collards, and kale, some of which are hardly recognizable as being members of the same genus, let alone species.
That is crazy. Definitely TiL.
Holy mother of new knowledge - edit: COLLARDS TOO WTF
And every one of those is delicious. I wonder what the originator tastes like.
What was the selection criteria for brussel sprouts?
p.s. also the nickname for babies born to sex shop workers.

Oh, man. I was half-asleep. 🤪🤣🤦🏼♂️
What are you talking about?
Brothel sprouts?
Also note that Brassicas are part of the mustard family which also includes Brassica rapa, rapeseed, which is best known in the west for the canola cultivar (just a variety that produces low levels of erucic acid).
One of my favourite brassicas is Chinese mustard greens, jiè cài (芥菜), or Brassica juncea which is used to make pickled mustard greens, an amazing topping for a lot of dishes (honestly you can just throw it on some rice and enjoy)!
