Credit to [email protected] for sharing this neat guide in Science Memes - Broccoli Blooms

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brassica_oleracea

It has been bred into a wide range of cultivars, including cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, collards, and kale, some of which are hardly recognizable as being members of the same genus, let alone species.

Also note that Brassicas are part of the mustard family which also includes Brassica rapa, rapeseed, which is best known in the west for the canola cultivar (just a variety that produces low levels of erucic acid).

One of my favourite brassicas is Chinese mustard greens, jiè cài (芥菜), or Brassica juncea which is used to make pickled mustard greens, an amazing topping for a lot of dishes (honestly you can just throw it on some rice and enjoy)!
