That is a very good way to put it. They do act like if you even briefly consider communist ideas it will “infect” you and transform you into a communist against your will. Brainwashing might not be real, but the fear of brainwashing used to stop libs thinking for themselves is very real.
Well, we already have proof communism is superior to fascism, even by libertarian might-makes-right logic… Eastern Front, anyone? Libertarians think the world works like an RPG where resources can scale infinitely downwards and there will always be low enough level mobs out there to grind your way up to prosperity.
