Everytime time I see one of these guys I think stuff like this, though usually far less articulately. This is all they have to try to convince us that communism is wrongthink; stale memes, casual bigotry and ignorance.

Sometimes I almost envy them, the world is so simple to them, everything bad is Russia and Trump’s fault, maybe China’s or Iran’s, depending on what’s in the news this week. But there’s no personal growth, no understanding, no way forward with this way of thinking, it’s emotionally and intellectually stunting, which is probably why they always use out of date memes and behave like an edgy teenager, because they’ve undergone 0 personal growth since they were one.

In 5-10 years time their big bad enemy will probably be Putin and Trump’s successors and they’ll know just as much about them and have just the exact same understanding of the world they do now. 0 understanding of anything, just pure vibes, the world will have changed, but their understanding of it will not. They’ll be jumping at the same shadows, swallowing the same bullshit about the same “enemies” and the only thing that will have changed is they will be more accepting of racism towards new designated “acceptable targets.”

    It’s such a sad existence.

Sometimes think life would be easier if I was one of those people on the liberal subreddit updooting epic clapbacks pointing out the hypocrisy of Republicans or Newsom’s hilarious all-caps tweets. Thinking that China, Russia, North Korea, Iran etc. are cartoon villains.

Then I think ”they were doing the same shit in 2016 and they haven’t grown at all beyond this stale garbage”. Then I think even further about how many of these people are in their 60s or older and they’ve probably been stuck in this stale worldview at least since Clinton was in office and for them, history never stopped ending.

I feel much better after those thoughts.
