    There is actually - either into cynical personal gain (for bourgies there are class interests too) or into nationalism. Those who did such backtracking are the most dangerous, because they perceive the system much more clearly and so can protect it much more efficiently.

      I don’t think that’s backtracking though, because they still understand the framework of things, they’ve just abandoned their morals and principles. They aren’t true believers in the system, they see the fucked up nature of it for what it is, but would rather personally profit off of it than fight against it.
