A few years ago, a new family moved in. They’re a few houses down from us round a corner, but their garden backs on to ours. The first I knew of them was when I went out in the garden one day and the wall between our garden and theirs had been torn down and there were lots of random men in our garden. I asked what they were doing and they said they’d just moved in and were renovating the garden. They didn’t ask permission or anything, just tore down the wall and trespassed in our garden. I didn’t complain about it because i felt intimidated by them. They ended up actually taking part of our garden by putting the wall back up closer towards us than it had been before. My landlady was also intimidated by them and so didn’t complain about it.

Ever since then they have been a nightmare. The father of the family is a huge, towering, aggressive thug. He has a wife and adult children and there are always lots of other random men there too. There’s an alleyway behind our house which we need to drive down to get the car in and out. His house is right on the corner where they alleyway comes out. The alleyway is a public access road but the thug always parks his car there, blocking the access. If we try to squeeze the car through he comes right up to the car window and screams at us “You better not scratch my car you fucking removed!” If we ask him to move his car so we can get past he screams “You can get through there you stupid removed!” Either way he gets furious and aggressive about us getting the car out.

They have a dog and they are too lazy to walk it. They just set it free, unsupervised, in the alleyway, let is shit everywhere, don’t pick it up and then the dog goes home when it feels like it.

Recently, we were getting the car out and didn’t know the thug had released his dog in the alleyway. My landlady was backing the car out and almost hit the dog. The thug had come round the corner just in time to see this and instead of taking any responsibility for releasing his dog into an alleyway that is used by cars, he blamed my landlady for “almost killing” his dog. He pushed his face right up to the window, screamed and ranted, called her a “goggle-eyed removed,” and threatened that he would kill her “rat dog.” He then said he was now not letting us out of the alleyway. He blocked the entrance with his car and stood there threateningly, ranting about what removed we are and refusing to let us through.

I suggested to my landlady that we call the police but she was too scared. She said the police won’t do anything and it will only aggravate him, and she is probably right. He blocked us in staring at us and ranting for 10 minutes until his wife came out to see what was going on, and made him move. He got in his car and drove off stupidly fast, in a rage.

The car is out of order at the moment but if it ever gets fixed I’m dreading having to see him again. This is one of the many downsides of being poor, you end up living in a shit hole area populated by angry people who want to take their frustrations out on any random person they see. Still, it’s no better being trapped indoors unable to get out either. There is never any good option. I’m seriously wondering if there’s a spell or curse I can put on that family to get rid of them.

EDIT: as someone suggested, I emailed a local councillor about this, being very clear I didn’t want the police involved due to fear of retaliation. He’s responded already and the fvcker has completely ignored what I said about not wanting the police involved and has forwarded my email on to the police! Well I’m glad I didn’t give him the neighbour’s address.
