Supposedly he was wearing fucking converse. I can’t imagine making that drop in fucking converses, and it really does look like he staggers a bit right after the drop and when he’s running away. I can only imagine.
Also sort of an argument against the “professional job” take. I can’t imagine any professional would wear their converses to the hit job.

How do those compare to converses? I can imagine doing this in most adidas tennis shoes - well I can’t really “imagine” jumping off a building at all actually, but my point is that my memory of wearing converses is that I got very little support compared to a more typical athletic shoe. Fucked up my heel for a while actually and I had to stop wearing them.
Sambas definitely have more sole depth and bounce–and grip–than chucks, but they’re still pretty dang thin. Meant for hard cuts on indoor soccer turf, originally.
