It will never stop being funny how neoliberalism worked so hard to put a human mask built of performative deflections and lies about benevolent intentions on the machinery of subjugation, imperialism, and extraction, to the point that the entire mainstream believes the mask is the truth and the blood soaked gears and pointy bits whirring menacingly beneath it don’t exist at all, with the major political divide being between the people who think the mask is not only the best we can ever have but is truly the very essence of good itself and the sobbing, malding chuds who want the blood soaked eldritch contraption of spinning blades and industrial grinders for harvesting every last bit of value from the innocent instead, not understanding that that’s still right there and that it depends on the mask to keep working unhindered.
but the chuds that want the grinders and blades to work unrestricted never imagine that they will be the ones being fed to the machine. if they knew that would be a certainty they’d have wholly different opinions about it.
Probably most, yeah, but I suspect a surprisingly numerous minority would rather have their lives taken by the system they espouse than face the friction and vulnerability of reconsidering their model of the world
