Are they Chimeric? I’ve never seen such a clear division between tuxedo and tortoiseshell patterns like that.

Assuming it’s real, I think it would have to be as chimera. I don’t even think an extra chromosome would explain this. I’m oversimplifying a little, but the genetics when it comes to the black/brown coloration is either “tabby” or “not tabby”, and “tabby” is dominant, so as long as it received one copy of “tabby”, every part of the coat that isn’t white should be tabby.

The blue eyes are even weirder, and make me lean towards calling it fake. It is quite well done though, if it is fake.

Edit: found a post, looks pretty damn real. Any insight on the blue eyes?

The vet classified him as a Minuet

          Huh… WTF is a Minuet?

The Minuet (also known as the Napoleon) is a hybrid mix of Persian and Munchkin cat breeds.

          Oh WTF???!!!

So it’s a cross between two breeds that, ethically, I really don’t think should even exist. I’d have to dig a bit, but I’d be shocked if there’s not breeders specifically breeding both of those for blue eyes, so it sadly almost makes more sense now.

Yeah, not great. Luckily it looks like the cross turns out to have a normal muzzle at least, and I think most munchkins do okay. Pure persians and Scottish folds are the real crime in my opinion, poor Scottish folds, horrible joint problems just because humans must have slightly bent ears :(
