            I feel like an American Papacy would deliberately rewrite doctrine to be able to get along with Evangelicals better, even if it still officially viewed Evangelicalism as heresy. “But then what about existing Catholics and their beliefs?” Papal infallibility, ig.

                Mormons have a ton of beliefs that are extremely heretical to most sects (e.g. they reject the Trinity, substantially altered Christ’s biography, etc.).
