i think in case of houses it’s fairly reasonable to just bolt them on real tight on tilted roof (where wind either can tear the whole structure off or it can’t and panels don’t really matter), or make them foldable for flat roofs (which is what cuba has), but idk what is done in this case

This is awesome, but I do wonder about small island nations being able to switch to renewables. Of course tropical storms are an issue, but also just having the land for it. Perhaps a pipeline of green hydrogen would be best (assuming a world where green hydrogen is being produced and the seller is not gouging the price).
i mean, you can oversupply macmansion with just roof solar, so single family houses likely can deal with it just on their own territory, if with reduced output per person, it’s rare they have energy intensive productions (by a lot of accounts, home solarification is like 4-5k in materials, without fullblown batteries and ignoring grid issues)
