    I dunno.

    Just as an example, with Rimworld, I am missing a DLC, so I use family sharing to get it and use it with my Ludeon, DRM free copy of Rimworld more conveniently. Mods work fine thanks to its XML modding API and the miracle that is Harmony C# patching.

    Other games are more complicated. For instance, SKSE (AFAIK) uses hacks to patch some Skyrim code, and you run into trouble trying to do it on unsupported platforms.

    Some Gamepass games have been problematic for me, others are perfectly moddable.


    You’re not going to get a straight answer unless you specify what you want to play, as every game with a prolific modding ecosystem is quite different.
