A nat 20 is the best outcome that the character could manage in that situation, if they have no chance of succeeding then the DM should not be letting them roll. If the barbarian suggests mauling a delicate machine with their mace it’s down to anyone else in the party (or the DM if they’re so inclined) to remind them that actions have consequences.

Aww man, the memories of making a garden base for Botania outside my friend’s Thaumcraft witch tower, across a river where your could see a Buildcraft quarry running next to someone’s industrial complex… Good times!
Tried playing Cobblemon with the idea to make our own themed towns but just like you there doesn’t seem to be time for it anymore :(

For just having fun with friends nothing else comes close. It’s not the best at every thing it does, but it does them all well enough and in one place, for free.
It really shouldn’t be used in the way big projects try to. There aren’t moderation tools to help with managing huge numbers of people, and like you said the threads and forums features aren’t really user friendly.
If only we already had physical identification that proves we have the right to work. We could call it a pass-document! Then we don’t need to tie it to your phone which is much more likely to be stolen. /S
FFS. I’ve been trying to avoid engaging with politics on lemmy but every time I learn about something good Labour’s done (renter’s rights, recycling changes) they announce something stupid to compensate (mandatory age verification (edit: I meant that they won’t budge on it, the Tories introduced it), this and whatever the hell “AI” nonsense they’re doing).
I’m just so tired, man.

I’ve also been waiting to start this series for a long time, when this announced I was blown away by how it looked and knew I had to give it a go.
I’ve sunk hours into the demo (which went on for way longer than I thought it would have!) and had a lot of fun, so I’m super excited to start my slow but steady playthough!

When I moved to Godot I was stunned by how amazing the documentation is. The examples and guides for even the most obscure systems really reflect the love put into this project!

It’s an engine that puts everyone else before programmers - which is great for artists and designers as they can blueprint animations and simple things. It’s bad however when the performance relies on programmers whose time is already torn between trying to do things The Unreal Way™️ and fixing bugs caused by someone doing more than they should have in one big and messy blueprint hotpot.

Man I haven’t been on Hypixel Skyblock in ages! It was really fun being there for all the community moments back when Technoblade was rocking the server.
Unfortunately the grind got too much so I ended up stopping playing and instead spending time helping out on Skyblock Addons. But once new content was locked behind skills rather than items it became impossible to work on new features, so that was my sign to leave.

Thank you for taking the time to share your insight, it’s definitely worth doing things right rather than rushed. I guess I’m a bit panicked by how fast things went downhill across the pond, but that’s probably just social media’s American bias shoving it in my face so much.
If this is done properly it could very well be what we need. I’ll hold on to hope.

It’s good to hear they’ve put a soft deadline on it, but I can’t help but think it’s wasted time when they could be building recognition with the average person. I hope I’m worrying over nothing.

This is what worries me. If they can’t even decisively pick a name how are they supposed to unify left wing voters? It does not inspire confidence.
Labour didn’t win the last election, the Tories lost because Reform split the vote and they happend to have the next biggest voter base. Now that Labour is losing it and Reform is gaining momentum, Your Party should have chosen a name and gone on the offensive long ago.
Bait used to be believable.
Paint.NET (note: not their URL sadly) is simple and will get the job done for 99% of your meme needs. I find Krita and alternatives are harder to use for simple edits because they’re designed for more complex tasks.

There certainly was a trend early on when vtubers were just high pitched “cutsey” girls but thankfully it was properly broken a while ago. It’s such a shame that it tainted the concept for a lot of people, when there’s plenty of men and women now who are just regular content creators that don’t want to show their face.
There are dozens of us! Dozens!!
I really hope Bigscreen manage to bring the cost down of their small headset because an affordable and comfy one might renew interest. It’s still very much an underexplored medium!

There’s been an interesting development; Krafton have responded with some pretty direct claims and the founders are suing.
TL;DR the most important claim seems to be
In particular, following the failure of Moonbreaker, KRAFTON asked Charlie to devote himself to the development of Subnautica 2. However, instead of participating in the game development, he chose to focus on a personal film project.
Ever since the Doom Eternal Mick Gordon situation there has been several more controversies (Bayonetta’s VA pay comes to mind) where it seems the first person to make the claim is hiding something. Is it an attempt to control the narrative? It has always backfired so far so we’ll see if that trend continues.

Hi, someone who does make games here!
Whilst there are some concerns with the interpretability of the movement, the reasoning I have seen pirate software give comes across as disingenuous. He explains the worst possible reading, and dismisses the entire movement rather than help guiding it in the right direction like someone in his position could do.
The real reason people are mad at him is because he made some unnecessarily rude comments about the organiser and the movement as a whole, which was incredibly unprofessional and made a lot of people feel betrayed by openly siding with the same big studios that many people feel cheated by right now.
If you happen to have any questions, feel free to reach out! This is an incredibly passionate subject for both players and developers alike, but a lot gets lost in the crossfire :)

Oh god I remember watching the 2019 anime but getting really confused a few episodes in because things just seemed off and like I was missing something. When I searched for it the next day on the site I was using showed the 1998 OVA “series”, and I thought it might provide the context I was missing. And oh boy it certainly did, just not in the way I expected…
Never knew it had such a big role in Visual Novel history. That’s cool to learn!
I tried playing fallout 76 when it launched. I care about story or having fun with friends, and it failed on both fronts spectacularly.
It didn’t offer any of the interactive story that I was expecting from (having watched) the previous entries because you were forced to play on a server, but it also didn’t commit to co-op content because you might not have friends.
What a waste.
