The error in these people’s thinking is always that, because they went right, they musta been left before. Since they know nothing about politics, they don’t realize that all their previous positions were either also on the center/right, or they simply never held any position on a given topic, because they were uneducated and hadn’t heard of the idea at all.

You can see it in the text over and over: ‘I can’t fathom the thought of paying reparations…’ Yea. Because you didn’t know what the fuck that was until Fox News explained it to you, whereupon you slotted that building block they so thoughtfully provided right into your world view, pristine and unquestioned.

The mention of Maga hats is also very telling. The only people who aren’t wearing those but are offended about people who don’t like them, already have mental Maga hats on.
