My conspiracy is that people are trying to ramp up enough of a campaign to defederate from .ml, not knowing it’s history on Lemmy and how most .ml users are actually quite chill and actually genuine people once you get to know them. I mean Jesus Christ guys, .ml users arent all bots.

1·10 days agoWell I think it would be cool to be able to fix/edit any inaccurate articles, or pages that may have been messed with by trolls, or to update with more up to date info.

1·12 days agoI wonder if there’s anyways to edit these files afterwards? They tend to be read only, right? I must confess, I don’t have too much experience with this myself.
Waffles? What’s this geometric breakfast grid?Where’s happy floppy shapes? Where’s bubbly dadaisms on my plate?

Technology@lemmy.world•A cartoonist's review of AI art, by Matthew InmanEnglish
4·21 days agoArt classes can introduce you to new techniques that you wouldn’t have otherwise pursued and elevate your art to greater heights. Depending on the school, it also helps with networking. Lotsa famous animators at places like CalArts, Sheridan, Gobelins, etc.

Technology@lemmy.world•A cartoonist's review of AI art, by Matthew InmanEnglish
704·21 days agoI often hear AI enthusiasts say that AI democratized art. As if art weren’t already democratized. Most anyone can pick up a pen, draw, write, type, move a mouse, etc. What AI democratizes in art, is the perception of skill. Which is why when you find out a piece of art was made by inputting some short prompt into a generator, you become disappointed. Because it would be cool, if the person actually had the skill to draw that. Pushing a few buttons to get that, not so much.
Edit:spelling and spacing
I recommend magic mushrooms.
The real question is where it’s going on?

politics @lemmy.world•FBI to Categorize Trans People As "Nihilistic Violent Extremist" Threat Group, Report Says
1·1 month agoMy guess is that it might be a legitimate designation that just needs work on. Note: Trans people and Trans Advocacy should not be considered or placed under such a list of terrorist orgs. When online misanthropic extremist groups(usually neonazi), like “No Lives Matter”, Order of Nine Angles(as in geometry angles not angels), and “764” exist, I feel like a new designation should exist.

politics @lemmy.world•AOC Reportedly Gearing Up for Big 2028 Campaign
5·1 month agoWe also have to ask ourselves why no one liked them. Some of it can be attributed to sexism and or racism, yes. But I think we can attribute a lot of the unpopularity of those candidates to their lack of charisma, weak seeming positions and advocacy on progressive points of interest (such as Gaza, the Palestinians, border climate change, etc), and what seemed like stupid meddling and sabotage by the consultant class.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you trust an open source software maintained by a developer who you disagree with politically (or otherwise don't like the developer)?
4·2 months agoTbh, I think most people just don’t understand that Lemmy is where all the quote un quote “tankies” that got banned or felt disenfranchised with reddit ended up in. They truly believe in whatever they are saying. Some of these people tend to be pro China and or even Russia, AND are real people who actually believe in their ideology and what they are saying, and aren’t just foreign agents. As for undermining American social media companies? Tiktok is already one of the most popular social media sites out there.

Notice how the words “American Workers” is written in small lettering. Small enough that some may not even be able to read it from afar, while FIRST is in all caps. Then take into account orange man being on top of the text. Subliminally trying to instill in people that “Trump is first”?

Tbh, I don’t know why a push by more left leaning sites hasn’t happened? This would at the very least show the broader unpopularity of the age verification law among pretty much both sides.

News@lemmy.world•US Citizen Detained by ICE During Raid on CA Farm Is Suing Trump Administration
2·2 months agoShit, might as well get a bag from this administration.

Oh they know. I’m pretty sure it’s a subtle insult to be quite honest. Imagine a president, one who claims that he has a mandate from the people, accepting a crown. A symbol of tyrants who lay their claim of their right/mandate to rule on such things as gods and the heavens, so specifically “not the people”.
