Well… If you found your way here, it might mean I said something that triggers you enough to check me out.

No problem. Feel free to disagree with whatever it was, just know that I usually make an effort to not engage with anything I may perceive as a provocative or that won’t lead anywhere, or reply to things I don’t believe merit discussion.

If for any other reason, be welcome and cheers.

  • The bar is now so low that you could even have a thief, a serial killer or a regular rapist of adults, and it still wouldn’t top having a PDFile Rapist Nepo Baby megalomaniac with authoritarian and racist, genocidal tendencies.

Seriously, worse than him I’d think only the likes of Hitler. And there’s still a lot of time and leeway for him to become worse than Mr. Funny Mustache in the history books, if allowed. Imagine surpassing the worst man in history by triggering mass nuclear destruction across the globe, ending billions of lives, and for what it’d likely be the pettiest of reasons from a small excuse for a human stain.

  • Yeah, that’s the saving grace of the UK deal, it’s that it was very visibly a deal just to keep appearances of cooperation and buy time. And the terms of the deal (especially the import of US meats/poultry) indicated this.

Now this with the EU, with the military spending and energy, I’m way more concerned since those are big sensitive areas where the EU is in a very disadvantageous position and might very well cave in all the way with enough pressure, especially when we bring Russia’s energy stuff into the mix.

  • Of course it was, since he successfully managed to break EU into a deal unfavorable to itself. Especially on the military part.

And because this has way more implications than “EU bends the knee”, since the EU is one of the biggest trading blocs in the world, which now gives Trump way more leverage in bullying other partners.

What happened to standing with Canada, UK, Mexico, and so on? What about all the bravado and strong worded letters? Where’s the action to go along with all that talk?

I really hope EU long term keeps doing the work to be an independent power, otherwise just like now it won’t have anyone else to blame for being susceptible to pressure from outside.

Ashamed to call myself European today, for how easily we caved in. And hopefully new, more reliant leadership comes soon.

  • Ashamed to be European today. For all the tough talk and strong worded letters we really can’t blame anyone else about being so dependent on other forces when we capitulate so easily to these thugs.

For all the talk about holding the line with other allies such as Canada, who are much closer and keeping their elbows up, this is truly disgraceful. Plus with all the far right influence popping up all over the west at the same time, which isn’t a coincidence.

Besides, with the way the US is going, Trump or not, how long until this deal is null and void by them?

This, most of all. While Trump’s main argument is ‘if these files could harm me/us Biden/democrats would have already released them’.

Maybe. Or maybe they don’t want to take you down bad enough that they get dragged along. Seems like a way more plausible scenario to me.

That’s the thing with corruption - once your hands get dirty you lose the ability to judge others for having dirty hands. And wherever one looks all they see is dirty hands or hands buried in the pockets.

    The whole system is compromised.

  • Oh my. Many would do it for free, but with this much incentive perhaps someone more “skilled” might want to get some skin in the game and expedite results.

Under other circumstances I’d find this kind of effort deplorable, but oh well. I’ll label it balance/Newton’s 3rd Law and call it a day. When you have these elephants dancing around with billions of lives there tends to be a push back of some kind, sooner or later.

Even if not now, with this specific effort, someday the bill will have to come due to those involved. Just like Hitler managed to get pretty far in his quest to spread suffering but eventually got his comeuppance. A marathon, not a race, as they say.

  • Kudos to you. I don’t drink, but I may do my own version of this, and more people should too.

To these so-called “great leaders” who want to leave their idea of a great legacy even if they have to set the world on fire for their ego, few things are more powerful than that ever-present thought that can never go away from the back of their minds:

    • “Somewhere there’s these many ‘insignificant’ people just patiently waiting to pop the cork when I bite the dust, and I’ll be dead and they’ll be celebrating it.”

Try as they may to ignore it, their ego will never let it go. And that’s good. Let them know in their core that their legacy won’t be what they want it to be.

Well… If the wife doesn’t wake up it might be better to just let her get her much needed rest, as well as enjoy some peace and quiet at long last. Plus the ambulance/coroner visit might not be cheaper than a shovel from home depot.

Don’t worry if she starts smelling bad after a few days, it’s natural.

As for the cat, figures. With all the chaos they might as well take advantage of the situation and enact their plan to take over mankind as the dominant species.

  • Every human is created equal. But then again - those who believe themselves above other humans and actively hate them and try to strip their freedom away (through race, money, etc) - those I do deem to be less than human, and below me and anyone wanting to live in peace.

The hateful will always have reasons to hate, they actively look for them in everything and base their lives completely on their misery, and their ability to spread it to others like a plague.

If you can’t live in a world with people different from you, and you feel the need to harm them, maybe instead of killing them, it’d be easier to get rid of you instead.

  • I’d vote for that.

Too many are already forgetting what just happened (and keeps happening) a few months ago. A system that allows for a petulant toddler on top of the free world is a system that could allow for a whole succession of petulant toddlers if given the chance.

Trump didn’t do it alone. He couldn’t have done it without all his allies, and without all the other checks and balances surrendering their power to let him have his way. Take Trump out of the equation, and you still have the other 99% of the rot to clean up.

If Europe doesn’t learn from this, it fully deserves what’s bound to eventually come its way. Fool me once…

  • “You basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f— they’re doing! Do you understand that?”

Yes, we all understood that for a long time, and not just with this conflict - ironic you would say they “don’t know what the f- they’re doing”, though. Who would have thought diplomacy requires more than “I’m the ‘big guy’, so they’ll naturally listen to anything I have to say”. Who would have thought these long standing conflicts would require more than saying “let there be peace” to solve.

We all, nameless citizens of the world, have known it for a long time - even though we can’t do much about it - about Israel/Iran, about Russia/Ukraine, and so on. While you, toddler living in a golden bubble that you are, have been focusing exclusively on golfing and how to perfect the art of the grift, as well as securing golden parachutes from your grifter friends each time you manage to bankrupt a casino. So now you get to the big chair and think the chair is what gives you power, when in fact it was most of your predecessors’ hard work that gave so much power to the POTUS chair. The same power you’re now imploding.

  • I bet if that was that easy he and most of the administration would already be 6 under, with the increasing amount of people with nothing to lose.

They know what they’re doing, they know they’re wrong and they’re hated. They handpick and filter the crowds through various means.

The only real time someone got an ‘honest’ shot at Trump was at that fateful rally where a far-right guy suspiciously got to spend hour-plus at a nearby rooftop, completely noticed and without action from security. And then the miraculous ‘shot’ that granted Trump near-martyrdom as God’s chosen representative before his cult. Funny all things considered.

  • That’s how you know he’s scared shitless. Also, his overcompensating tweets tend to be a great indicator of how small he feels. The bigger the wall of text, the more filled with lies/CAPS LOCK/insult/etc. - the more out of his depth he is, like a cornered animal screeching.

Plus, military seems to be quietly saying the loud part, as one could interpret the small signs of the parade. So if he can’t count on them he can’t rely on any dictator’s biggest enforcing arm, the same arm that can easily crush ICE and all the co-fascists if it ever comes to that.

I really hope they don’t get away with it in the end. Simply being removed from office without heavy consequences for all of them just sends the message that the next sleazebag can start to slowly carve a path on the shadows and attempt success where these grifters failed.

He already tried it during his first term, but luckily was inexperienced and mostly surrounded by people who reeled him in. Now, on his second attempt he’s learned from experience, and surrounded himself with yes men, either by appointing them directly, or by firing and replacing someone else in a strategic position that could threaten him. Which makes him much, much more of a threat.

There won’t be a third attempt from Trump, but you can bet the likes of Vance, Miller and so on will try to fill the void he leaves if they aren’t held accountable. Heck, even Trump’s son’s have already floated the idea of following their father’s footsteps. Evil is always lurking, waiting on a chance to pounce when prey is weak.
