That is a very simple summary that does not convey any of the actual horror (body, psychological, and jump scares) that occurs in DS. Reading the plot will spoil the twists, but is not the same as playing the game and reading thru the in-game journals, experiencing the cut scenes, the ultra vigilance the game instills, or the aura of dread from every corner of the ship as you walk thru it.

Games@lemmy.world•Tyranny: Recommended starting character with a mind to story, not ease of combat?English
6·2 months agoGiven how the story progresses and what ends up happening story wise, a mage/wizard character is probably the “best story” choice as it most accurately aligns with what drives the story.
There’s a bunch of gaming/performance settings out of the box ranging from custom helper scripts to ananicy-cpp kernel scheduling tweaks and more. Here’s CachyOS’s page on the “tweaks” they have: https://wiki.cachyos.org/features/cachyos_settings/
They also include an easy to use kernel manager that gives users a lot of options for kernel customization: https://wiki.cachyos.org/features/kernel_manager/ (I may have spent some amount of time borking my system with it… repeatedly 😅)
And they have package repositories that are optimized for newer hardware like Zen4/5 and AVX512 instruction sets: https://wiki.cachyos.org/features/optimized_repos/
I’ve been using Cachy for a while now and it’s been great for gaming. I don’t use it for much else tho. As a sysadmin by trade, I do like the support for ZFS on root (which varies between other distros). Although it was a bit tricky to set up, now it’s running smoothly and my snapshots/backups are working great.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Unveiling the xz Utils Backdoor which deliberately opens our SSH connections for RCAs
01·2 years agoArch put out a statement saying users should update to a non infected binary even though it doesn’t appear to affect Arch https://archlinux.org/news/the-xz-package-has-been-backdoored/
However, out of an abundance of caution, we advise users to remove the malicious code from their system by upgrading either way. This is because other yet-to-be discovered methods to exploit the backdoor could exist.

In a first-past-the-post voting system with winner-take-all representation, it’s literally impossible for a 3rd party to be elected to the presidency. If you’re really committed to changing that, you’d vote for the people who are more likely to enact ranked choice voting and proportional representation (regardless of party)… and only at the local/state level since that’s where voting laws and regulations are made. Voting 3rd party for president does nothing but dilute the vote of the intended opposition party. Greens dilute the Dem vote, Libertarians (both big and small) dilute the Republican vote. To pretend otherwise plays right into the game the two big parties have always played.
