  • “Kyle, every boy pays for kisses. Do you know what I am saying? If you got a girl and she kisses you, sooner or later you’re paying for it. You gotta take her out to lunch, take her to a movie, and then spend time listening to all her stupid problems. Look, look at Stan right there. He’s got to sit there and listen to all her stupid motherf___ing problems 'cause she kisses him. If you ask me, that’s a lot more than the $5 my company charges.”

  • My guess? Because they fired a shitload of engineers and are having the remaining ones pick up the slack with AI vibe coding. They are pushing slop to prod and breaking shit left and right because they need to prove that destroying the world with AI data centers is worth it.

Spoiler altert: it’s not. Having well trained and talented engineers wite the code works better.

  • Completely agree, but I think with Goode and Pretti it gave our team a good hand to play. Like, “hey, all you All Lives Matter people. Where ya at?” and with Pretti specifically, it’s like “Hey, all you 2A folk. Where the fuck ya at?”

I’ve been outraged and outspoken since the beginning, but these two incidents are really heavy hitting cards to play in order to expose hypocritical fascists. Not that it actually matters because these people are brainwashed mental gymists. But I like to think it at least puts cracks in their foundation. It’s caused some amount of infighting, so that’s a step in the right direction.

  • Oh for sure, completely agree with all of that, but there is a point of diminishing returns. Like you definitely need functional equipment. And it’s nice to have nicer equipment. But buying yet another guitar doesn’t make you better at the guitar, and you can probably get better by practicing more often with what you have.

Don’t get me started on music software. I could spend $10,000 a week on plugins that I would never use because they all look so awesome.

Sequencing on something like LSDJ is great because you are locked into this tiny little ecosystem and you have to get creative.

  • I’ve been using Nova launcher for just as long, and finally got off of it in November. First it was no updates, then whispers of ad injections, and now the ads are actually here.

With that said, I tried Lawnchair, and found it to be clunky, unintuitive, and either lacking the features that I wanted or I couldn’t find them.

I ended up going with Smart Launcher, which has been a fantastic replacement. It’s got everything that Nova Launcher has and more, and it’s very easy to use.

  • I’m not trying to start an argument with a stranger over the internet about what is acceptable and what isn’t, but I draw the line here.

I’m not entirely sure where you got this picture, or how, but what I do behind closed doors is none of your business. I am going to have to take something up with the folks over at www.animalsintheflesh.com because clearly my data has been compromised. How else would somebody I’ve never interacted with before get a picture of the custom order silicone sleeve that I purchased? You internet freaks need to crawl back into your caves and leave us self respecting people to our own personal lives.

  • “read the sidebar” is not a great solution when I’m using Connect for Lemmy from my phone, and there is no sidebar.

I suppose you’re right about people knowing The Onion is fake because of its popularity. But saying people are losing their sense of edgy satire might be a sign of how crazy things are these days. Like with what is happening in the world right now, a headline and article like this is absolutely plausable. Ice agent kills Good. Nintendo sues Bowser for piracy… Half of the real shit happening out there headlines like an onion article. There’s a whole “NotTheOnion” community based on this.

Like I said, I like the creativity. I read the whole article and enjoyed it. But I hate the idea that I need to fact check every little thing that I read, especially in a community that prides themselves on separating from mainstream news media garbage.
