The robot is the one who brings you to Doc if I recall correctly

7·8 天前It’s still a one time purchase for the license. It’s only OS updates that would need to be paid for yearly after the 1st year
This new season of Make Some Noise really started off with a bang

Progressive Politics@lemmy.world•California to become first state to sell cheap insulin through state-backed program
19·10 天前Definitely a win! It’s important to note what type of insulin this is, insulin glargine (a long acting insulin). For those who are already on Lantus or Toujeo it will definitely be a plus. Hopefully next they’ll do short acting insulins (lispro and aspart)
Good ol’ ARFID (Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder) for me. It’s cyclical for me, and when it rears its ugly head I’ll basically stop eating for a week or two. Normal meals turn into protein shakes since my throat will refuse to swallow normal food.

5·12 天前We’re no longer in summer, so yes, it’s the last summer relative to the current time of year. Could be regional (or even generational, I’m no expert), I’ve heard it said this way a lot. From what I understand “last summer” is grammatically correct, but they could have also used “this past summer”, or “Summer 2025”, or something similar as well.
Good to know, thank you! I haven’t touched S3 storage yet in my self hosting journey
For anyone else who was thinking of starting an instance, local storage is still a no-go right now
S3-Compatible Storage Required Currently, Loops requires an S3-compatible filesystem (like AWS S3, MinIO, or DigitalOcean Spaces) for avatar and video storage. Support for local storage is on the way but is not yet implemented. Please ensure you have S3 credentials ready before proceeding.
Some packaged mixes will specify water or milk. Milk of course makes a better product, but water will work as well

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some small inconstancies in your body that makes you unique?
10·18 天前Your tear ducts (and everyone else’s as well) are connected to your nasal cavity. It’s where tears drain and partly why we get runny noses when our eyes are tearing up.
Definitely more unusual to be able to force air the other way, but not impossible. I’ll sometimes do it accidentally if blowing my nose too hard.
It was my first thought as well, but this situation didn’t sound too familiar to me

News@lemmy.world•Russell M. Nelson, oldest-ever president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dies
6·28 天前Thank you for saying this, I was working off fuzzy memory and took a better look this morning. While he was a very successful heart surgeon, I was incorrect saying he helped in the creation of the heart-lung machine.

News@lemmy.world•Russell M. Nelson, oldest-ever president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dies
714·28 天前The man was a pioneer in modern heart surgery and helped with the creation of the heart-lung machine. Opinions on the religion aside, I’d say we definitely lost something of value

12·29 天前That took me way too long to notice

Kind of a sickly sweet if I remember right. Worked in a pharmacy that had a medication disposal box and someone dropped a bottle of the stuff in front of it.
