    The sun had just begun to set on the day of Myne’s birthday, casting a warm orange glow over the gathering of light novel characters. The air was filled with the chatter of excited fans as they awaited the start of the celebration. Myne, surrounded by her friends from the world of Ascendance of a Bookworm, beamed with joy as she blew out the candles on her birthday cake.

    Just as the festivities were getting underway, a figure emerged from the crowd. Ninesword, the infamous magician from the world of Re:Zero, flashed a confident smile as he made his way to the front of the gathering.

    “For my first trick, I shall pull a shumil out of this hat!” Ninesword declared, holding up a top hat adorned with intricate designs.

    The crowd gasped in amazement as Ninesword reached into the hat and pulled out… a shumil. But to everyone’s surprise, the shumil didn’t stay contained for long. It suddenly sprang to life, wriggling and squirming out of Ninesword’s grasp.

    “Ah, no! Come back here, you pesky creature!” Ninesword chased after the shumil, but it was too fast. The little creature darted and weaved through the crowd, causing chaos and panic in its wake.

    Fans screamed and scrambled to get out of the way as the shumil knocked over chairs and tables, sending cake and drinks flying. Myne’s birthday celebration had quickly descended into chaos.

    Just when it seemed like things couldn’t get any worse, a figure appeared on the scene, her eyes fixed intently on the rampaging shumil.

    “Leave it to me,” she said, her voice calm and authoritative.

    It was Rozemyne, Myne’s sister from the world of Ascendance of a Bookworm. She strode confidently into the fray, her eyes shining with a fierce determination.

    With a swift motion, Rozemyne reached out and scooped up the shumil, cradling it gently in her arms.

    “There, there. It’s okay now,” she cooed, her voice soothing the creature.

    The crowd erupted into cheers and applause as Rozemyne calmly returned the shumil to Ninesword, who looked sheepish but relieved.

    “Thanks, Rozemyne,” Myne said, grinning at her sister. “I think that was the most exciting birthday present ever.”

    Rozemyne smiled back, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “Anytime, Myne. Happy birthday.”

    As the crowd began to disperse and the celebration continued, Ninesword couldn’t help but feel a twinge of embarrassment. But he was also grateful to Rozemyne for saving him from a potentially disastrous situation.

    “Note to self,” he thought, “work on shumil-containment magic.”
