What you just read, she never gets close to anyone, there’s always a chain, a wall, she’s on a platform or something, even during disasters she never goes to where the people are.
The only times she does is when it’s something organised by her party so the access to those who can get close to her are their own people and those who were promised some spare change to cheer for her.

Contrary to what the propaganda from lemmy might have fed you, she and her party are hated, that’s why they are always overprotected and only appear in front of a controlled audience; this incident happened during a time when a small group is building up asking for people to organise and get them out of power before they remove more of our rights. So the news come here and tell me she, who never does this, did it, and somehow her security allowed someone to get that close from behind and grope her without thinking some angry citizen might take the chance to get her out of the picture? Ok, sure.

And the news say the opposition is yelling foul because this is a smokescreen… But omitted reminding everyone how the opposition said she keeps shielding pedophiles and rapists in her party and stepping on other women’s rights (both statements being true).

I’m not sorry I can’t bite the hook anymore, nor feel bad for someone who keeps taking every mexican’s rights away and shitting all over what real feminism is only to use it as a shield when it’s convenient.

Thing is, it reeks of being a setup, manufacture a scandal to distract and one of their most used cards is the misogynist one, whatever she or her government is criticised for is dismissed because “it’s because she is a woman so you attack her because you are sexist”.

You telling me someone managed to get that close in the middle of a crowd and the security did basically shit when she has never ever got close enough to anyone unless they are getting paid for it? Sorry, not buying it.

Also they are yelling “foul” because she has actively weakened and destroyed instances that should be protecting women, has berated and insulted civil organisations dedicated to the protection of women and is actively protecting pedophiles and rapists inside her own party, you can’t play that card if you are part of them.

That was the original intent, yes. Something that had gone viral and could be adapted to different things.

Then lazy people (and probably ignorant of Internet culture) decided to call anything they shared a meme (not even funny things, I mean anything) so they could feel included.

Now we have multiple meme comms saturated with things that aren’t memes… Or funny, but it doesn’t matter because people have no desire for quality. We’re no different from reddit in that aspect.

If this forces wayland into accepting global hotkeys or an easier/decent way of adding global hotkeys for selected programs, I’ll be happy, because that’s what made me switch back to windows (have a macro-keyboard, had to use a Windows program to upload the desired keys to it only to find out I have to focus obs to use the hotkeys).

I miss when it used to mean “I want to find and share porn and piracy without worrying about being found out”.

Around the half of the current year the “chair law” was approved and it sounded great… Nothing has changed so far.

Laws are useless if nobody enforces them or if the organism that should protect workers does shit because it was ordered to do shit.

And I’ve never seen their posts on my feed… I’ll try searching some comms from there to here and see if it was just missing active federation.

And being the cynical asshole that I am… It doesn’t surprise me at all, the technological ignorance is huge in latinamerica and we are stubborn as fuck, people just don’t want to learn or try anything different, even if it could be better.

There’s only one mexican instance, it uses a whitelist and it fucking federates with grad so… Yeah, out of options.

I’ve been here since the reddit API exodus and I’ve never seen a latinamerican comm in my feed, much less latinamerican spanish posts.

And hosting an instance is not that simple, it requires effort, content, time, some originality and money (even if a little)… And people who want to join, but I’ve seen maybe 1 mexican (who I assume lives in México too) other than me… Because mexicans love being strangled by meta, so there’s little to no incentive into creating a space for us in the fediverse.

I think a large share of Lemmers will do the research.

I doubt it, a lot of lemmy users just repeat ad nauseum whatever they read here but don’t care about analysing it, understanding it or admitting everyone’s context is different.

You can see it in this thread, just saying that everyone should quit everything meta they get their feeling of superiority, but ignore how hard it is to convince a common person to switch, try or upgrade whatever they use.

You can see it a lot on the linux vs windows discussions, most show 0 empathy or understanding when it comes to other’s needs and use cases.

I see propaganda news from my country and it gets a lot of upvotes, nobody cares about researching why someone from the same country could get mad about it.

So yeah… I don’t share your optimism about lemmy users.

Because I live in a country whose goverment is shitting on the economy and where Valve will never sell their hardware themselves so I am stuck with scalpers and resellers, the original steam controller was sold at triple its normal price at best.

I loved the og one so if this isn’t affordable… Well I am fucked.
