2·8 months agoThe same McDonalds that hosted the orange turdbag at the drive through. They ain’t getting my money and haven’t since. The rich orgs clearly feel bold enough to brag about
How much money they make from you and;
They enable a facist administration, and;
They will use the money made from you to lobby and ensure employees get little respect or wage and;
They have made your product smaller, crappier, and more expensive.
Listen to them when they brag and stop giving them money so so this.

1·8 months agoFor me it’s in the conversations I have. Making them calm discussions with others about their goals helping them come to conclusions about the consequence (more to those they love than themselves) and trying to bring them back down to their real wants rather than what the media has them riled up about. Most people have benefitted from progressive movements they just forget how much.
Nostalgia, and frustration at avenues to personally moving forward seem to be a hurdle for some people. I am older, I have benefitted for the world of tech and science. I really feel for our younger gens. They can’t afford to live, homes are out of reach, job security and respect is sliding. This puts relationships, families and self worth at risk. I can see how radical ideas take root.

6·8 months agoSo you think the 40% is all made up of conservatism or could it be disillusion with what the parties are offering?
Is it really support of conservative? Even labelling it as support of far right when people are frustrated and choosing to protest vote can have a tone of condescension which can do more harm than good.
I am as annoyed as everyone else about the orange turdbag but ignoring root causes (in any country) is gonna eventually take a toll.

3·9 months agoGreat work and I love seeing people collate solutions. I wish however that gumtree was at least decent.
Do you think we need a crusade group? I noticed a story about a tent group making money out of the camps earlier. Maybe we can all torment them. Happy to give a portion of my day bullying corps.
Amazon has been the easiest to get rid of for me. I just stopped buying shit. I’d rather do without than continue supporting this. My Alexa’s got dumped. I just need to replace my firestick and I am done.
I am really staring to detest most of the biggies. Amazon. Nestle, google. I’m not even American and I think the health companies need hounding.
Who do you think should be next?
Love this. Who says the Germans have no humour.
Thanks just spent a lot tow time over telling Adobe where to go. Great way to vent. Whose next?
I’m gonna go with this tutorial I think, but make the carrots myself. https://mysweetsavannah.com/diy-easter-carrot-wreath/
Just in time for spring and all the bird song!

4·9 months agoIt feels inevitable. You stay sane and protect your inner peace. I am in the camp this is not left/right old/young this is rich playing with the poor. There are far more of us and we have a lot of common language.

2·9 months agoAgree. It’s easy to feel disheartened by the lack of action. It’s easy to say get out and do ABC, however since smartphones and apps it’s been so easy to just hop on and scroll/consume. Plus the monetisation of content creation has captured a whole generation looking to build a career (fuelled by more apps to help them). Sharing and creating is big money now. It’s not just about saying hey look I did this just incase anyone else wanted to try it, and share there thoughts on the matter. I have concerns that even if forums popped up in a new shape they would just get scalped by those looking to repackage and sell the info.

3·9 months agoI have been questioning in the last few month what can i do, i agree, the old internet is not the way, but for me tech and the internet has become a dirty word and somewhere i no longer want to be.
I have become quite conscious of my where my money goes, i also probs need to be more conscious of where my internet traffic goes and where i can support grassroots (online) communities.

This has been working for me for a whilst however if one of the links in the chain goes down at some point then you have nothing to watch. I might even have to talk to my family!
I’m gonna start considering local server. I remember the good old days of getting up in the middle of the night to check limewire.
