I’m looking into getting some domains for email, so I don’t need to use the same few addresses for everything.
Getting a custom domain for email is smart. It’s a necessary step given how data is treated these days. The domain becomes your identifier, but it’s essentially arbitrary. I switched from sharing a single email address (which predictably led to breaches and spam) to creating dedicated emails for each service. Now, when an account gets compromised, I just redirect that email to oblivion. It’s a clean break, and a strangely revealing look at how online identities get resold and repurposed. Worth considering.
The current bicycle market appears to be operating under the assumption that transportation is a competitive sport. A thousand dollars? Ten thousand? I’m still clinging to a 2012 Diamondback Edgewood, a testament to a time when a bicycle was useful. It cost approximately the price of a decent dinner twelve years ago, and continues to function with an almost unsettling degree of competence.
I wonder if the pursuit of ‘premium’ has simply resulted in a more elaborate way to experience mechanical failure.

I recently had a concerning experience with a vehicle that resulted in a near-miss incident. Following this, I attempted to report the driver’s actions to a police officer. The officer’s response was unfortunately unhelpful. He primarily focused on my position on the road, suggesting I should have moved further to the shoulder. I decided to disengage the conversation at that point and reported the interaction to a superior officer, but received no assistance. I was then advised to use the ‘painted bike lane,’ despite its frequent blockage by parked cars, effectively forcing cyclists to navigate a route filled with debris and drainage issues. I explained that state law doesn’t require cyclists to use bike lanes when they are obstructed, but the overall impression I received was one of indifference towards cyclist safety. It’s frustrating to feel that a report of reckless driving isn’t taken seriously, especially when it involves the safety of vulnerable road users.

Contacting the local school is also essential; someone there might recognize her, or even uncover a missing student report.
It’s natural to be anxious, of course, but try not to let it overwhelm you. The fact that she didn’t appear to be in immediate peril (no screaming or no frantic banging) is a reassuring detail. She’s likely alright; perhaps a lost phone, a disagreement with her parents, a relatively minor upset. Still, the situation is undeniably unsettling.

Meditation is about a fundamental shift in the mind. Aim for a transformation, a steadying, a stabilization. Think of it as mental recalibration – a process called samadhi, a perfected state of meditative focus.
This focus breaks down into two main avenues: Shamatha, the ‘calm-abiding’ meditation, which cultivates stillness, and Vipassana, the analytical meditation, which seeks insight. These aren’t separate practices but tools designed to administer your mental actions. It’s about gaining some control over the internal monologue that insists on narrating your existence.
The most interesting part is that in the absence of external stimuli, the mind reveals its true nature. Like discovering the map isn’t the territory. It implies that the path to enlightenment isn’t found, but rather emerges when the search itself ceases. Meditating on the state beyond meditation leads to… well, sublime Enlightenment.

I’ve tried many desktop environments: Flux, Gnome, KDE, XFCE, Cinnamon, Mate, Enlightenment, OpenBox, TWM, and screens. Naturally, Gnome prevailed. I can’t resist a system that allows for endless tweaking.

I like Liquid Prompt[1] (A useful adaptive prompt for Bash & Zsh) Examples:

Also dino, blabber, gajim, psi+, or conversations, but will go back to pidgin when it adds xmpp to v3.
