4·16 days agoNo, thankfully he’s been pretty healthy overall. He had bad infections in both of his eyes when I adopted him, but those are since healed up and he has relatively wide nostrils for a Persian, so we’re looking good.

9·16 days agoSame! I adopted him from a rescue that specializes in Persians and Himalayans because they end up in rescue situations so often.

World News@lemmy.world•Alcohol, nicotine and more — could drugs like Ozempic curb the desire for vices?English
2·17 days agoI might be a bit different since I use Mounjaro for (very well-managed) diabetes, but it definitely hasn’t reduced my desire for alcohol.
My biggest pro was my social life vastly improving after switching to WFH. As a naturally introverted person, I burned all my social energy at the office and nights/weekends went into hermit mode. Now I’m sitting on my charger all day while I work and actually have the energy to see my friends.
I do care about people, but I have to admit the only time I cry is when their pets die.
Joke’s on you, I don’t know how old I am.
In retrospect, I maybe should have let the person with cancer win. 😆 But it’ll be all the more satisfying when they beat me next time.
Thank you, we are. They have a really good prognosis and will likely be cured. Today was infusion 4 of 8 total, then surgery, then radiation.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What's a bad habit you use to have for a long time but finally fixed?
19·24 days agoNot taking care of myself. I’ve felt so much better and more confident (and practically reversed type 2 diabetes) since I’ve maintained a consistent strength training routine and eaten healthier.

111·1 month agoWow, we’ve managed to combine AI and boomer humor for a new low.
That’s a sexual matador if I’ve ever seen one.
I was going to simply reply “audio.” I watch them all on mute at this point.
I’m fairly confident the random branches I spin off to try out a dumb idea are not equal to main.

6·1 month agoI should call her.

A little more context would be helpful, but in general, I think Atomic Habits and Digital Minimalism remain two of the best books in this general vein.
