Yeah. That song even has the benefit of being in English, so you don’t need to find a translation as an English non-German speaker.

Boycott US@lemmy.ca•Montana city launches campaign to woo back Canadian visitors: ‘We miss you’English
11·6 hours agoThere’s lots of places in the US I’d still love to visit some day. However, if it means risking getting thrown in jail by ICE for liking a meme online, I am sure as hell not going to do it right now. I know it sucks for everyone who didn’t vote for this fascist takeover, but you need to clean up your mess first before inviting guests over.
I’d think a lot of folks would jump at owning any property at that price. The reality is that most of those 50+ year old shacks start at 1 1/4 million unless you want to move to absolute nowhere.

World News@lemmy.world•Money-losing Japanese automaker Nissan is selling its headquarters building to gain cashEnglish
2·10 hours agoWhat on earth are you talking about? It’s on the 370Z chassis, one of the most loved enthusiast platforms out there.
Anyone wrapping it around a tree has a case of driver error to blame. Having owned every generation of Z since the 300ZX, I found it to handle excellently.

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•So I'm fashionably late to Solasta. What custom campaigns did you folks enjoy?
1·10 hours agoHaven’t played any of the custom campaigns, but the game is very fun in terms of it’s mechanics (I’d argue it’s superior to even BG3 in that specific regard).
I didn’t create a new party for the expansion, but that’s largely because I set up the team to have abilities that all feed off each other for some truly disgusting amounts of damage.
Let the community know which ones of the custom campaigns you liked best. I’d love a reason to jump back into the game :-)

Charlie Kirk Memorial@lemmy.ca•Erika Kirk Faces Backlash After Viral 'Fake Tears' Video and Rumours Linking Her to JD VanceEnglish
6·1 day agoSeems to be just an artifact of DDG’s algorithm matching her first name and “fakes” to pornographic material. I am pretty sure you’d get similar results with other women’s names, for example try “Jackie fakes” and see for yourself.
Rammstein got so sick and tired of being called Nazis just because they make harsh music with German lyrics that they put out “Links 2 3 4” two decades ago to clear up that they lean socialist. And Till Lindemann himself has said repeatedly that they hate Nazis. And yet, people still associate them with it because they can’t think beyond “Scary German music = Nazi”.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•It is now 89 seconds to midnight. Closest it's ever been. How concerned are you about global war?
6·6 days agoI agree with the sentiment, but in going to “uhm acksually” you on the size of the nuclear stockpile. Russia still holds more nukes officially: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_with_nuclear_weapons

4·7 days agoHurray for sanity. Glad to hear the Netherlands still has institutional backstops to this kind of nonsense.

4·7 days agoThanks for elaborating on that. Honestly it sounds very similar to racists here, albeit without the mental gymnastics required to somehow justify the occupation of indigenous lands they need to do in order to avoid having to come to terms with that they themselves are immigrants.
I did read about the antifa thing a while ago. To my knowledge that didn’t actually get implemented though, did it?

2·7 days agoSame for Carney to be honest. The Liberals were never truly left wing to begin with here, but even then he’s a clear rightward departure from Trudeau.

2·7 days agoOh wow, that puts a very different perspective on this “victory”. Thanks for providing that insight. What’s driving the far right in the Netherlands? Same-same story of “I don’t like brown people”?

2·7 days agoNumber of gay PMs in the Netherlands = 0 too. This guy hasn’t been sworn in yet. PP was mostly trans bashing by the way, but my point is that I don’t recall the sexuality of candidates being a relevant thing in elections here. Also, “We don’t elect women?” that’s just downright incorrect - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_female_first_ministers_in_Canada
Glad they are calling out Danielle’s blatant misuse of the notwithstanding clause, and I fully support a general strike. It’s high time someone told the UCP to stop treading on Albertans’ rights and freedoms without consequence.

2·8 days agoBrave to assume that will change anything. I am pretty sure that if he dropped dead today, he’d be turned into a marionette for the moneyed interests propping up the MAGA/Nazi movement to control by tomorrow morning.
They don’t need him for his political acumen, they need him as their mouthpiece. And with the direction genAI is going, I’d start to worry if I were Trump…

3·8 days agoI have heard some concerning stuff coming out of the Netherlands for a while, yes. Especially the gradual erosion of the social safety net they erected back in the 60s and the privatization of core parts of the country’s public infrastructure. I’ll share in your hope that this may see a reversal, or at the very least a stay under whatever new government results from these elections.
Funny you mention Scandinavian levels of taxation by the way - when I lived in the Netherlands for a few years I paid significantly more income tax than I did in Sweden. Not sure how progressive the tax system still is in the Netherlands, but it felt like all but folks on income assistance were taxed similarly.

2·8 days agoWhile I understand the concern about these parties polling well, the old adage that “the only poll that counts are the elections” still applies. I am at least still cautiously hopeful that the Trump effect will continue to pay dividends across the rest of the world by making the majority of the electorate reconsider supporting parties styled after the MAGA movement.

2·8 days agoExcuse my ignorance of the nuances of the political situation in the Netherlands, but I was under the impression that D66 are center-left liberals with some right of center economic policies. I didn’t know they had similar stances on migration and foreigners as the PVV do.

3·8 days agoI get what you’re implying, but no it’s not a big deal here in Canada either. I was just optimistic to see a stalwart alt-right staple party like Wilders’ PVV suffer a quite significant election defeat.

I struggle with this so much, with any Bethesda game. I start with the intention to just apply some community fixes, then end up with 100+ GB with of mods.
I don’t know what causes this, but I think its that subconscious thought that looks at anything in the game that doesn’t look right/you don’t like and goes “hey, we can fix this”.
