1.) Assuming that’s truly innate, why should we uphold a system that incentivizes and rewards self serving behaviors with more power?
2.) I would argue a much more genuine claim to why we still exist is actually our communal nature.

Do you know what were the ‘core values’ of the new Fandom they betrayed?

Running on the status quo of a dying empire they lost to a populist lying about ousting corruption and forcing change. This story is a lot older than identity politics.

I can’t wait for more ‘quests’ and notifications about how I’m failing all of them 🫠

Fair enough, yeah I might still dabble in trying it out if I find the time. I just hate adds and apps to a pathological degree, so if discord gets too gross I wanna know how hard it would be to jump ship lol. Thanks for the insights!

My main experience with it was setting up a little space on the matrix.org server. We could in theory venture out into the broader server, but never really bothered. So it definitely wasn’t exactly discord, but worked well for our needs of having a couple rooms and the option to hop into a persistent video/voice room with jitsi.
I’ve never touched the server side, but I am a little curious, especially with the QR account creation someone else mentioned. Not needing to walk folks through logging into another service, and instead just having it be a webpage they visit that stays working would be rad. How did you find running the server?

Yeah I can see what you mean. Even if it is just a sectioned off bit of the glob of discord servers, a discord instance does feel like an island in a way that a matrix space does not. Last I remember using them it was still a little messy in ways that felt strange too. The real struggle is having folks to check them out with considering many of my friend group already had to be talked into trying discord lol.

Isn’t replicating this the goal of spaces? How are those doing on matrix?

It seems pretty wild to me to assume that there is a trivial number of people that would be motivated to vote based on something like universal healthcare, that isn’t a pseudo religious devotee of performative leftism.

Okay, but it seemed like the point of the comment I initially replied to was that it was contradictory to assume that Harris could have had a better shot at winning by moving to the left, and that the number of people that decidedly don’t vote based on Harris not being progressive enough is insignificant. Do you really think that’s true?

Okay, so you don’t think there is anyone that would have been motivated to vote for Harris if she had adopted positions like universal healthcare that isn’t a ‘performative’ left-winger that would never be happy with her?

What sorts of left-wingers are you talking about here?

All voters fall out of coconut trees.

Rent strikes exist and have worked. The realities of evicting everyone is slow and costly legal process that can be disrupted in various ways. The point is to make it so costly that ceding to the tenant union’s demands become the better choice. There is a book Abolish Rent that goes into some tenet union victories and lessons can be learned from them.

You clearly resort to hyperbole because you know how damning their speed is.
Yes, they should have taken less than two and a half years to indite Trump for seditious acts.

After waiting a year to open the investigations, and another year to establish a special counsel, then waiting until August of the next year, 2023 to indite him. Because they took so long he was elected before trial. They didn’t charge him with sedition, they didn’t stop him from campaigning, and they dismissed the case because “The (Justice) Department’s position is that the Constitution requires that this case be dismissed before the defendant is inaugurated,”
Damn, shucks, darn it, if only they had gotten lucky or maybe started a bit sooner they could have gotten to trial before their 4 years were up, but shucks guess we just have to dismiss this case about someone trying to overthrow our fucking government.

Why didn’t Biden appoint a DOJ head that would try him for treason? This was in their power, they didn’t need more votes, they saw what happened Jan 6, why didn’t they do what needed to be done?
What are the top 3?
