Thunder App@lemmy.world•Stop alt-text on images? [edit: SOLVED]
2·26 days agoHey there! To completely disable the bottom navigation pill, you’ll also have to turn off comment navigator in the settings. Here’s a quick link to that setting: Thunder Setting: General > Comments > Enable Comment Navigation
Let me know if that disables the bottom pill completely!

Thunder App@lemmy.world•Is there a setting to disable alt-text below images?
2·29 days agoHey there! There’s currently no way to disable the alt-text on images, but feel free to open up a new GitHub issue on this so that we can keep track of this request!

Thunder App@lemmy.world•BUG? Settings return to default after a load failure
1·1 month agoHey there!
If you’re logged in, Thunder determines your post sort settings from your Lemmy account settings. If there’s a bad connection, Thunder might then default back to the guest sort settings located here: Thunder Setting: General > Default Feed Type and Sorting > Default Feed Sort Type
As for the nav bar visibility, Thunder should be respecting that setting regardless of network connectivity. If you’re able to reproduce this issue, feel free to open up a new GitHub issue on this so that I can take a closer look at it!
Hey there! Thanks for the feedback.
Option to hide bottom navigation bar on scroll, same as we already can with the top one.
This is already being tracked in this issue: https://github.com/thunder-app/thunder/issues/74
Option to change the three dots on every post to a share button, hold for options or have both.
Compact card mode, looks the same as cards but have the smaller thumbnails to the side like compact does
If possible, could you create a new GitHub issue for each of these suggestions so that we can better track them? Thanks!
Thanks for the report! This should be fixed with the next nightly build. See the associated PR here: https://github.com/thunder-app/thunder/pull/1937

Thunder App@lemmy.world•[BUG] Quoted text in dark mode appears light-on-light
1·2 months agoThanks for the report! This is a known issue here: https://github.com/thunder-app/thunder/issues/1877
Edit: this should be fixed in the next nightly build
Hey there! At the moment, there are no plans to move the repository over to a different platform. That being said, there have been some previous discussion about mirroring the repository over to Codeberg/Forgejo but no action has been taken yet.

12·3 months agoHey there! Main developer here 👋
Thanks for the mention! If you notice any bugs or issues, definitely reach out and let me know through our GitHub page or through our Matrix space.
I do try my best to check for issues on both Android/iOS on my personal devices, but it’s difficult to account for all other devices (especially performance-related ones)
The testflight has experimental piefed support, don’t think notifications work there yet.
That’s correct! The TestFlight version has initial support for PieFed but push notifications are not available yet due to some complications.

Thunder App@lemmy.world•[Bug] Newlines inserted on either side of superscript text
2·3 months agoThanks for the report, this is likely due to some of the custom markdown logic related to subscript/superscript text. I’ll add this as an example into this GitHub issue

Thunder App@lemmy.world•[2025-07-30] Thunder Development Update
3·3 months agoThat’s the plan! PieFed-specific features will eventually be available to those with PieFed accounts, and the same will apply for Lemmy-specific features.
For the initial rollout, the main focus is just enabling PieFed compatibility.

Hey! Unfortunately, I’m not able to reproduce this issue on my end after adding some filters and refreshing the feed page. Do you think you can give a more detailed step-by-step reproduction of this issue? For example:
- Added “xyz” to keyword filters through Settings -> Filters
- Navigate back to feed page and refresh feed
- See the following post show up on the feed (link to the post in question)
This should help me better reproduce the issue and figure out a fix for it!

Thank you! There’s still some features that are not yet implemented for PieFed but should be introduced later on. Let me know if you run into any issues!
