Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•The "cargo van" that's actually a cargo bike (that's actually an electric cargo tuk-tuk)English
11·7 days agoPretty dumb that the pedals aren’t connected, and are instead an overly complex “go” button.
But vehicles like this are great to have, as long as your city has the infrastructure to support bikes, walking, and public transit.

Books@lemmy.world•What book(s) are you currently reading or listening to? October 14
7·21 days agoI really liked Redshirts by John Scalzi. Just added Old Man’s War!
I’m about halfway through The Galaxy, and the Ground Within by Becky Chambers. It’s the 4th book in the (semi-non-linear) series. So far I really liked books 1 and 2, 3 was meh, and 0.5 was fine, but expected. 4 is captivating.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•People who have permanently moved to another country, what gave you the opportunity and was it worth it?
22·22 days agoThis is an amazing rundown and I can appreciate how most of the downsides are food-based.
I can tell my boss I’m sick and that’s that.
This is huge, it’s exhausting to have to deal with the fallout of calling in sick that I sometimes work through it so I don’t have to deal with the bs.
