Technology@lemmy.world•Decentralization Scoring System (v1.3)English
10·8 months agoThis is really cool.
It reminds me of the Edinburgh Decentralisation Index: an academically rigorous decentralization index that the university of Glasgow school of informatics devised to quanitfy the decentralization of cryptocurrencies:
The Edinburgh Decentralisation Index (EDI) studies blockchain decentralisation from first principles, archives relevant datasets, develops metrics, and offers a dashboard to track decentralisation trends over time and across systems.
https://informatics.ed.ac.uk/blockchain/edi
You should give it a serious look. IMO, it would offer some insight into academically peer-reviewed ways of quantifying this kind of thing.

Yeah. I started on world and accidentally made my password too long to ever login again. It was a wonderful accident.
Welcome!
Now that the election is over and the shitlibs on world can pretend that Trump is the only demagogue to blame for the ongoing genocide, you might be fine.
If I were you, I’d switch before you share your opinion somewhere that [email protected] or [email protected] can censor or even ban you.
I’ve seen people banned and their comments removed for having the audacity to question the official braindead Reddit hivemind lib narrative (pro-DNC no matter how demonstrably corrupt they get because “have you seen the other guys?”, anti-Single-Payer, conveniently pro-Ukraine while hypocritically anti-Palestine).
It’s pretty easy to switch nowadays.
Makes sense.
Lemmy.world is filled with censorship and genocide apologists. It’s basically an exact clone of Reddit’s culture of smug libs that look down their noses at other poor people while working tirelessly against their own best interest by supporting corrupt oligarchs that weaponize identity politics as a highly effective dog whistle.

You’ve just hit the article limit with your free Sifted account.
Ok, ok. If you insist. I won’t read your article.
Why would you use this instead of Matrix FFS? Closed source and centralized.
I’d argue that FPTP is the real barrier. It makes it a FACT that we can only have two parties.

0·10 months agoThanks. 😂 Honestly, I hate scammers. I really do. But they’re SO easy to spot.
I feel that the hivemind threw the baby out with the bathwater when it comes to crypto. Thanks to Do Kwan, Sam Bankman Fried, etc, a whole viable set of technologies aimed at wrestling power from the world bank has been vilified by the hivemind.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•What Would a Fair and Community-Focused Monetization Model on the Fediverse Look Like?English
0·10 months agoYeah! How dare people try to have wealth that is actually borderless and self-sovereign. Those idiots are scammers! I will own nothing and be happy. Get out of my way, I need to step in line to bow before the Federal reserve (an organization that I fully admit is corrupt to the core and the very root of the issues in our society). I’m actually a Marxist living in a capitalist society. So, I am too cool to worry about the fact that I actually need money. I’ll just pretend that I don’t need it even though I REALLY do. I’ll do whatever I can to piss on viable alternatives to the Fed just because people were degenerate gamblers and got owned by obvious scammers. Sure the fed can take away my money for no reason, inflate the dollar so that my savings are worth less every single day, and do whatever they feel like with my money but that is a good thing because scammers exist in the world…
