  • “Parts of the phone reached a scorching 130° Fahrenheit, which is hot enough to burn your skin after about 30 seconds. During a few stress tests, the phone completely closed all apps and disabled functions like the LED flash to manage heat”.

I know this is during benchmarks and the average consumer would not get anywhere near this, but still… 130°F (54,44°C)?!? I think 113°F (45°C) is already a little too warm to be comfortable…

  • The “Force Peak Refresh Rate” setting in Developers Settings is the only setting i can think of, helps smoothing other things out a bit for me too. I don’t know if this actually increases the sensitivity, but i guess it’s worth a shot.

I have the e/OS version of the FP6, so i don’t know if the Google version has features added somewhere else.

  • I think Sony allows the bootloader to be unlocked, so i would go for the new Xperia 10 vii and just put a beefy case on it to be honest. Not only does it have the 3,5mm jack, but also SD card slot, no stupid punchhole/camera cutout, has a good battery, is a ‘normal’ size (6.1"). If i didn’t went with the Fairphone 6, i’d go for that one.

Those rugged phones are falling short in many ways, and most of them are pricey too. And Motorola isn’t what they used to be, sadly.

  • Thanks!

Sadly, more and more apps are starting to use the Google Integrity API. This API checks if you’re using a “safe” OS, so you probably can figure out yourself what this means… Super annoying. It is going to be: live with it, or go to alternatives.

My bank app still works, but recently there was some news they also are adding the API. If it stops working, i will either leave them, or just use another device or simply use the browser.
As for Android Auto, there is not much advice i can give. I have no need for it myself.

  • Is the software buggy? I did not like the Fairphone 5 mainly because of how buggy the Google Android version was… I had random reboots and freezes, framerate issues, UI elements that glitched or didn’t fit the screen properly. Hope they were able to fix that by now.

I too have the Gen 6, but i choose the e/OS version. Great phone so far.

  • I’m very happy with mine! This picture is taken with the Nikkor 24/1.7 lens, not the standard lens kit. I pretty much almost always use this one. Only when i want to make pictures of landscapes/big open ereas, or want to have the wide-lens effect, i grab the standard lens kit. The one that came with the Z30 (lens kit) was the 12-28mm F/3.5-5.6 PZ VR.

The camera, extra battery, lens kit and prime lens all fit perfectly in a tiny bag, which makes a perfect travel buddy!
