df, notdu. Lookup man page for options
Am I missing something? He does say things out loud that many of us know (and barely talk about) and others ignore. He’s got a talent for explaining hard concepts to teens willing to listen.
Yes the change may need to be induced from the top and we get to chose who’s at the top and push things forward through exercising democracy. Read his books, listen to his talks then go and act.

6·2 months agogiven performance of Dems thus far Republicans won’t need POTUS47 to sweep midterms. People still don’t trust Dems. DNC insistence that “we just need to change methods of messaging” instead of revamping their platform does not bode well for democraxy

New Democratic Party@lemmy.ca•What Canada's NDP Needs To learn From Zohran Mamdani
10·2 months agothis conversation needs to happen. NDP should go back to it’s roots and instead of seeking power, should talk about things others would rather not: stop talking “economy and GDP” and start talking “worker protections” , human dignity and human rights. Unfortunately electoral reform speech coming from NDP right now would sound like “sore loser whining” but it also needs to be talked about.

3·2 months agoguy who is not authorised to make foreign policy decisions travels overseas on public’s dime to… make foreign policy decisions??? So couple of obvious themes:
- guy likes to travel with comfort on public dime
- it’s a private bribe session
- he’ll be asking US to kick some money his way to take over the “uncooperative” government

3·2 months agoDid you look at Greener Homes Plan? It’s a federal program and similar to First Home Buyer’s program where you get interest free loan for 10 yrs and power companies for the most part have a program of “buying” your excess power so you can start with that. BC Hydro offers $5k rebate on battery systems as well, so now is a good time to jump in.

no. greens always suffered from identity crisis oscillating between libertarian and socialist values. Not to say that NDP didn’t completely lost their social democratic way etc. but to save the province we’d need an entity with core values unshakable and guided by firm principals, not flip-floping in the wind. I will vote for progressive candidate under any banner provided their party allows free voting for them which is rare in today’s politics.
