Generally speaking, it’s almost always a bad idea to fudge things to make it worse, but acceptable to fudge things to make it better.

If your players are rolling well, good for them! Sometimes players want to feel really lucky and like their investments paid off. If that makes your campaign too easy there are lots of ways to address it, and an easy fight will rarely if ever cause a campaign to crumble

But a series of bad rolls? That can absolutely melt a campaign. It can suck the soul out of a party and make things feel unfair or too difficult even when it’s just a string of bad luck. Preventing a TPK or allowing a PC to narrowly escape certain doom can be the difference between a player losing interest and them learning how to mitigate risk.

GMs should all spend some time reading up on the psychology of games and player behavior. Stress and frustration exist in the strangest, most illogical places because our brains are strange and illogical.

    1. I know. I’m in favor, to the degree that it’s possible and non-punitive. But until we’re prepared to do it at home we cannot be demanding it abroad

    2. I fully concur that Israel is an oppressive state and deserves sanctions. Even more so now. Netenyahu is a criminal and so is most of his cabinet. I won’t equivocate on that. The hasidics especially are despicable. I just know there are a whole lot of reasonable people living in Israel who ought not lose their nationality at this stage

    3. first of all I never said which had to come from where or when. But if you want to be serious, them I expect kindness in the form of ousting Hamas. That’s it. Get rid of the people whose charter is the destruction of the Jewish state in favor of their own.

Edit: call it performative, but you were at 0 votes on your reply and I’m using my vote to put you at +1 because you are engaging in genuine dialogue, so far

Cool. So every country is gonna give back their land to the indigenous peoples they took it from, right? Right?!

We can start with America and work our way down the list from there.

Someday people will figure out that all of this, all of it, everything we have, is built with the blood of innocents. And we only have three options now: start repairing these relationships through kindness, grace, and good works; watch one side wipe out the other; or fuel the ongoing violence in perpetuity.

That’s all we have left and I personally prefer the first option but so, so many people opt for 2 or 3 that it makes me numb.

You just ignored thousands of years of history prior to the formation of Israel, as well as the role the international community played in its formation, just to make your naive, myopic point.

So no, you haven’t proved anything but the fact that you will say whatever is easiest to push your agenda.

    Peace out ✌️

Eh I would point out that fascism doesn’t need to be racist to be evil, AND that there’s a reason why fascism is the preferred form of government for racists.

So, like, you’re not technically wrong but I think the point you’re making is bordering on moot.

Fascism is bad. Racism is bad. Most racists are fascists. Many fascists are racists.

The venn diagram of fascists and bigots of one type or another is damn close to a perfect circle

I support the resistance. I do not support all of their actions.

I support the right for Israel to exist as a sovereign state. I support almost none of their recent actions, and absolutely none of their military actions.

That you cannot hold multiple complex ideas in your head at once is a personal failing on your part. You may want simple, binary, black and white realities but they virtually never exist in reality.

Any group that is beyond reproach is immoral by definition.

    Once again: Do better.

  • I’d say there’s an 80% chance Zohran farmed the writing out to staff and trusted them to provide him something good. And I’d say the remaining 20% is that he wrote the words himself using a fact sheet provided by staffers.

You really think politicians write their own shit if it’s longer than a tweet? You think he has time to personally fact check every statistic on every document he puts his name on?

Like, this kind of stuff happens all the fucking time.

If he uses the statistic again after this I might give him shit for it, but the rest of his position is still valid regardless.

  • I’d ask for a source on this but I know you don’t have one

Kinda sad watching the left call him an Israeli shill while the right calls him a Palestinian shill. Thus is the unfortunate lot of brown people. Ever a tool of people with an agenda.

Zohran is not the first person to be accused of malicious intent by both sides of an issue using completely opposite reasoning (both flawed) and he certainly won’t be the last. But it will always make me laugh at the stupidity of people who talk out of their ass.
