No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If this has been asked recently just link it no need to be mean, because I am emotionally sensitive right now. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How long have you been single for and why?
24·15 days agoYou might have had shitty experiences with some particular women, but generalizing that to other women is bad for both women in general and you.

3·17 days agoFor photography, maybe https://unsplash.com/ ? The site is commercial and many people upload stuff for self promotion reasons, but still, most photos are available for free and under a rather permissive licence

Says the person who declines to answer simple questions.
none of the countries you listed or any other country considered socialist has ever reverted to social democracy
This is the most incoherent argument I’ve read all week. What does it matter if a country reverts to what? Also, some USSR states did revert to social democracies, but that probably doesn’t count to you because of reasons. To be clear, I don’t care about your reasons for that.
If you were well-read in socialism, you’d know that there are a lot of disagreeing factions, and those disagreements include semantic ones over what is and isn’t socialism.
So you tell me, what is socialism? Is marxist-leninism socialism? Is Cuba socialist? Current-day China? Mao’s China? Rojava? Would a society organized in worker co-ops be socialist?
From Wikipedia:
Social democracy is a social, economic, and political philosophy within socialism that supports political and economic democracy and a gradualist, reformist, and democratic approach toward achieving social equality.
While it is not an objective definition, I think it is a valid point of view to see social democracy rather as a reformist variant socialism than capitalism.

26·21 days agoIn general, investing borrowed money is risky… People just don’t realize they’re doing that when they take on a mortgage.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Does free healthcare access increase or decrease the need for medical personnel overall?
5·1 month agoThere are other disincentives besides price that keep people from going to the doctor if they don’t need to
- wait times to get to the doctor
- the time spent actually getting to the doctor and being there
- social disincentives of having to explain a minor issue to a professional and probably something else that I forget now.
I used the health care services at my home town once this summer, and I spent two months there. Basic care is free at the point of service there. And I only went because I had had a concussion. Didn’t seem that the other people were there for no reason either.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Does free healthcare access increase or decrease the need for medical personnel overall?
11·1 month agoThe indirect savings of people going to the doctor earlier etc actually mean some of the healthcare ends up being free.
Also, saying that you’ll have the same problems regardless the system is both factually incorrect and unnecessarily nihilist.

181·1 month agoI don’t think no 1 is a valid argument as that applies to all food. Also, fructose is a sugar
