    They pull the typical “ackschualllly” thing too and say “they’re all criminals, they came here illegally!

      I think they’ve picked up enough legal residents to not take that at face value at this point. I have to presume they’re all here legally until proven otherwise in court.

      Kinda depends. Having crossed the border without authorization? Criminal offense. BUT, it seems when one is caught in the act, that’s only a civil offense. Overstaying your visa and the like? Civil offense.

      Legal stuff from the ACLU. Take that with a grain of salt, seem like old data.
