      Yes, but never mind that.

This is going to cause Soviet-style, empty shelves, lining up for bread, actual goddamned shortages.

I was down there just as Covid was ramping up and borders were closing. A guy had a couple of grocery carts full of meat. Took almost the whole display. He was arguing at the cash register because they wouldn’t let him buy it all

I could be wrong, but my very limited experience with bread makers is that they’re basically for making loaves more conveniently, since they can mix, knead and bake all in one device. If you’ve got to remove the dough and form it into buns to bake on a sheet pan anyway, I’m not sure a bread machine has any advantage over a normal stand mixer.

You don’t even need a machine or mixer. There is the “artisan bread in 5 minutes a day” book and website. You add flour water yeast and salt, stir it in with a knife or spatula then stir or fold it in with your hands till it is somewhat consistent. They even say don’t over mix, the dough will figure it out. Wait two hours. Either boule it up or cut into bun blobs , rise again 40 mins and then bake it. Easiest recipe ever and it tastes amazing.

It takes care of the mixing, and rising. It’s very “set it and forget it”.

Forming buns or a pizza crust out of that dough and tossing that in the oven is a pretty fast part of the process.

Generalizing all trump voters as irredeemably bad is a barrier to antifascist organizing.

Some of trump’s most affected victims voted for him and it’s naive to think we don’t need them to defeat fascism.

Its a bit late for the people who’s leopards are eating their face to get upset that they voted for the leopards.

Especially when everyone else told them specifically “that leopard will eat your face.”

If you voted for trump, quit crying and start protesting. Its basically the last hope we have of a peaceful resolution to this problem.

It feels natural to be angry at people who fell for fascist lies, but the fascists tell these lies because a certain percentage of people will always believe them.

It’s more effective to acknowledge that sad reality, rather than blaming the people who make up that percentage.

It takes a lot to turn your back on a former identity, even when it’s hurting you. Calling people stupid all the time makes that harder and gains us nothing.

I don’t think “stupid” is a helpful term, ever.

However, with the things that are going on plausible deniability is getting harder and harder.

At this point, you can’t say you aren’t aware of what this administration is doing.

A lot of people don’t read or watch the news, or maybe they just watch Fox News sometimes. Or maybe they get their news from social media and where there’s algorithms that are designed to give us each the news we want to see.

Everyone gets scammed sometimes. If you’re spending a lot of time on the internet and watching some influencers, you’re probably being scammed by some of them in some way. Maybe it’s just making you think some bullshit entertainment story is more important than it really is so you’ll continue watching. Or maybe you’re being scammed into supporting some horrible people, you’re just not aware of how horrible they are.

What matters is if someone can admit they were wrong and work to make things right.

The ones that support him right now are too far gone at this point. The people you see complaining in town halls are the people that need to be swayed, but they have already decided that he is not what they want.

Fun story here, I co-organized parties and we sold slaps for 2 bucks each. Guest what? It worked very well.

Trump voters are the same as the ones paying to be slapped minus the party.

Ah well at least they stuck it to the woke agenda amirite? I just want to repeat that I feel awful for the actual decent people in the USA that have more than two brain cells. And I wish that I could give you an island or something where you don’t have to share a country with piece of shit scum human beings.

But that aside, I’m going to start looking at this as good news, personally. I am going to feel glee at seeing Americans having to lie in the bed that they made. I’m looking forward to some real pain and suffering here.

Someone else posted this in a different thread but its even more relevant here.
Light takes 8 minutes to reach the earth from the sun, if the sun vanished it would still be daylight for 8 minutes.
It takes 30 days for a ship to reach the US from China.
We’re around day 26 now afaik?
