Yet I saw it today. And it’s considered normal and acceptable. Surely it’s undemocratic if nothing else.
I mean if sixteen people think that it’s a good conversation then it’s probably a good conversation, at least in their opinion, and they are the people having the conversation after all so they are the experts. And the moderator doesn’t possess any kind of special understanding, right? It’s just her opinion versus opinion of sixteen others. So she should just let them talk. And this seems pretty obvious to me.
So what’s going on here. Is YarrMatey just that awful? Is everybody else just Stockholm Syndromeized? Is this some kind o’ mammalian authority-reflex? “Well they own the community so they get to dictate morality therefore it is by definition not-awful…”
