That sucks. I would be unhappy about running out of E like that. I’m not sure if you’re in a position to do this, but people have been known to diy T vials in situations like yours.

Some prescribers are extremely weird about EC; I’m not sure why.

It’s such a good feeling being able to hold a year’s worth of medicine in the palm of your hand.

It can be difficult to not have someone showing you this stuff in person, but hang in there.

Yes it’s fine to draw and inject with an insulin needle/syringe like that. Diabetics do it all the time.

EC and EEn are equivalent for trans HRT purposes; it’s just that prescription EEn doesn’t really exist outside Latin America so a lot of people aren’t familliar with it.

While it’s true that not everyone can do monotherapy, most trans women (more than 80%) get good results from it if they’re on a proper injectable regimen.

If you take any vitamins or supplements that contain biotin, that can cause incorrect test results. Some foods also have a lot of biotin, especially eggs and some meats. If you eat any of those before getting your blood drawn it could throw off your numbers.

The online options like folx and plume are pretty expensive. If planned parenthood is too expensive for you, diying injections is pretty cheap. $100 would get you a vial of injectable estrogen that should last you at least a year. Depending on where you live injection supplies and testing are likely available without seeing a doctor, and at relatively low cost.
Spiro isn’t a very powerful antiandrogen, and it might be the case that neither of you actually needs it if you’re both on a sufficient dose of estradiol (either valerate from your stockpile or if she gets her own later on).

Maximum appropriate needle length varies depending on how fat you are - you don’t want to go too deep because the abdominal muscle isn’t a good injection site. Keep it subcutaneous if you’re doing abdominal injections.
Also, @[email protected], are you using those same 18g needles for injecting, or just for drawing? If you switch to something a little smaller it might be more comfortable for you and you’d be less likely to core a vial.

You’re not hampering your progress by starting with oral or sublingual. However, injections are convenient (only need to do them once a week), surprisingly cheap (~$100/year) and easy (as long as you aren’t scared of needles).

Yes estradiol and total testosterone are the two big ones for estradiol monotherapy. Also biotin can mess up your test results and it’s in a lot of multivitamins and foods, so when testing becomes accessible for you, you’ll want to be careful about that. If you want to dm me about finding/doing tests or interpeting results, feel free to.

Happy for you
have you scheduled a blood test yet to verify your dose?

It might not even matter - we have a dearth of anything but anectodes on the subject.

You can get a closer shave doing it manually than with an electric shaver. You’re probably better off saving the extra money for for laser/electrolysis if you want those in the future.

It depends on where you live - in some places it’s easier to go through a doctor, and in other places it’s easier yo buy hormones without a prescription.

Alright! Do you want help figuring out how to proceed with starting HRT?

Definitely start thinking about whether you want to feminize your body; estrogen is pretty nice and a lot of us wish we had started earlier.
Those are great numbers, congratulations!
